Working out of Huddersfield & Keswick, I run drama, fiction & creative writing workshops for all ages.

"Dave does it yet again, six brilliant Greenaway drama sessions in our Wakefield primary schools. Six fun, engaging, confidence-boosting workshops which really brought the books to life....Dave gives huge added value to the shadowing process. Two of our teachers saw children do things they'd never thought they would see; the power of drama, the power of Dave!"

Wendy Mitchell, Senior Cultural Officer, Wakefield Schools Library Service

 Win: Fully Funded Dave Day
Closing Date: Midnight, Sun 25th March

As the Carnegie / Greenaway short lists announcement approaches (27th March), I am running a free prize draw to win me for a day. I will pay all of my travel & accommodation costs as well as delivering your workshop for free.

This competition is for librarians & teachers and all you need to do is to contact me on davobarbus@aol.com or by any other means to let me know a) you'd like to enter ( one entry per school ) b) your name, job title, school and best contact details.

If you are a Carnegie / Greenaway shadowing school, you could take your prize during this period and I could help your shadowers explore the short list using drama or writing activity. Or you can take your prize at any other time with any of my other workshops.

UK mainland only - Northern Ireland and other overseas colleagues, please feel free to enter, but the flight costs will be payable by you.

 Last Minute Lunchtimes

As and when I can, I will be offering a free visit on a specified day at short notice where you can have me for up to 90 minutes before, during or after lunchtime - you will pay my expenses only, which is 15p per mile, rounded to the nearest fiver + overnight expenses if required. The LML winner can take the free 90 mins or choose to upgrade to a longer visit, using it as a discount of £100 on my normal rates.

The previous Last Minute Lunchtime was delivered at Wakefield Girls' Grammar on . . .

 Tuesday, November 29th, 2011

. . . The next one will be announced soon, so watch this space!

To be in with a chance, all you need to do is email me by 6pm. If more than one school has tried to bag it, I will draw from a hat; if no school has bagged it, I will announce this on Twitter ( @CaveDryer ) and roll over the deadline until 6pm the next day.

"Great fun, and a fantastic introduction to the 'Booked Up' choices. I would certainly recommend your easy presenting style, along with an excellent 'command' of the groups to any other schools."

Sue Johnson, Leader of Progress - Foundation Stage, Glossopdale Community College.
